When my husband and I relocated to Ann Arbor, MI for his Masters at U of M, I began a one year teaching position in Lansing through the Brighton Public Schools. This 1 hour drive each morning was a struggle for me. I was grieving my long time art teaching position from Grand Rapids. The drive, change of students, faculty and position switch from high school to elementary was really wearing me down. My joy came from watching the farm landscape shift through the changing seasons. A solo exhibition at the U of M Fine Arts Center inspired this small but meaningful visual delight to become large works on canvas.
