The Blue Ridge series reveals repeated imagery of the inadvertent path. Our "second home" in Boone, NC, is where my feet tread from late August to May. My husband teaches at the university, affording us summers in Michigan with family and good friends. Boone is beautiful, and I feel fully alive hiking rocky mountain trails and taking in glorious summit views. We live off the grid in a tiny house we built ourselves and embrace the ever changing weather of sunshine and hail, warm evening winds and morning mist. Many works in this series are based on paths I have hiked upon, or roads my husband and I bicycle along. It is a symbol of journey, fitting for my dual life balanced between North Carolina and Michigan.
